She was in her 94th year. Joanna (Jo) was born November 25, 1894 on the 3rd Conc., Mariposa Township (Sonya), Ontario. She was the daughter of the late James Watson and Elizabeth McTaggart. Jo attended public school at Fingerboard School and attended high school at Port Perry, travelling there each day by train. She was very active in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in her teens and as a young woman. Jo married Charles Wesley Lunney on April 6, 1918, just prior to his leaving for overseas in World War I. They lived for a time on the 3rd Conc. of Brock Township and then moved to Saintfield in January 1937. In November 1965 the family moved to 137 Union Ave., Port Perry. Charles died March 9, 1967. Jo spent her life serving others. She cared for elder members of both her own and her husband's families. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great- IN OSHAWA -- IN AJAX -- 2000 Simcoe St. N. Guests were always welcome in her home and could be certain of a satisfying meal. Holidays and birthdays were always reason for a family gathering and food aplenty. Halloween brought out her funside, when she loved to dress up and fool the neighbours. Jo was admitted to the Com- munity Nursing Home January, 1979 as the result of a broken hip. Her last years in the Nursing Home were sad for family and friends as they watched her mind and body slowly slip away. She is at last at peace and will always be remembered with love. Mrs. Lunney is survived by her son Orville of R.R. 1, Claremont and her daughter Diane Mathison of Port Perry, seven grand- children and 9 great- grandchildren. Joanna was predeceased by her only sister Mary in June 1929, by a son Mur- ray in July 1922 and a daughter Mayrienne (Lunney) Buxton in December 1940. A funeral service was held at the Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry on Tuesday, July 5, 1988. COURTESY, COMMUNICATION & CONTROL The Malibu cut in front of the Firebird to turn east onto Mitchell Avenue. The driver of the Firebird took evasive action but was unable to avoid the Malibu. Several thousands of dollars damage was done and the Malibu took off. It will have damage to the rear right. The driver was described as white, male, early 20's, medium length blonde hair, faint moustache and wearing a dark ball cap.
