Cornish for many years, and during her time assisting at the school she has been responsible for helping raise over $60,000 for various school projects. Bobbie (right) was presented an engraved silver tray for her dedicated work at the school at the a grade 8 gradua- tion by PTA member. Joanne Fowler to express the thanks of all students, parents and staff. Bobbie ran for School Board in the last election, and says she may consider running for the position again this fall. John Robertson will conduct worship at Brooklin Horticultural Society will hold their Annuals Show and general meeting on Wednesday evening of this week at 8:00 p.m. at Brooklin United Church Hall. This promises to be a big show with a total of 64 classes. Please refer to your show schedule for the correct number of specimens required, as your entry will be disqualified for improper count. All entries should be on the show bench before 7:45. Special speaker for this meeting is Bar- bara Twiner. Her subject will be 'Microwave Cookery', giving-us ideas for preparing our garden produce for eating by utilizing the microwave oven. A house plant seminar is being planned for Saturday, October 15. This will include lunch and will be held at Burns Church. We will have more details of this event at a later date. Special thanks to all those who participated in the garden tour, sponsored by B.H.S. which was held on Sunday, July 10. More than 60 people enjoyed visiting 9 different properties. Enjoyed see- ing the vegetable gardens as well as the beautiful flower display. In last week's column I men- tioned that Ted Heron was in Whitby General Hospital. Last Tuesday he was moved to Oshawa General Hospital, where he will undergo special therapy. Peggy Graham from Thunder Bay was visiting with Rose Heron at her new apartment in Whitby last weekend.
