In the semi-final, the team had to come from behind to force extra innings against the Li'l Gators to advance to the final against Stan- dard Electric. In the seventh inning Aman- da Wakeford doubled sending 2 runs home to tie the score and force extra inning play. In the ex- tra inning Flielers scored twice and Seagrave Park three times. The Port Perry District Minor Softball Association would like to thank Seagrave Park for allowing us to hold the tournament in Seagrave. This became necessary with the lack of good diamonds in Port Perry. Minor Softball would like to thank the following coaches for a job well done:- Laure! In a division A play Greenbank Lifestyle 2000 defeated Dowsons Valu Mart 15 to 10. Matthew Blowe and Trevor MacSween had home runs for Greenbank. Suzy Gascoyne's bases loaded triple led Seagrave to a 7 to 2 win over B&R Electric. Ryan Puckrin pit- ched a 3 hit game for Seagrave. Heather Tredway pitched a final strike out with the bases loaded to preserve a 4 all tie for Greenbank against B&R Electric. Jamie Ir- vine put in a strong pitching per- formance for B&R and Heather Harris had a three run homer for Greenbank. Kevin Hobbs' strong pitching performance helped - Valu Mart edge Seagrave 7 to 6. John Sax had 2 runs for Valu Mart. Four strike outs in 2 innings by Kevin Hobbs helped Valu Mart edge B&R Electric 8 to 7. Mike Cannon had a triple and single for Valu Mart. Jamie Irvine's strong pitching and 2 runs paced B&R Electric. Seagrave trounced Greenbank 12 to 1 on Andrew Martin's strong pitching and Ryan Puckrin's home run and double. For Greenbank Jeremy Gibson struck out 3 and Greg Phayre had their lone run. In division B play Flieler's Petro Canada trounced Norton Home Improvements 28 to 13. Evan Gower had a grand slam home run for Flielers as did Chris McGriskin for Norton. Mathew Kay also had a home run. Philip Donnelly hit in 2 runs to help Flielers earn a 12 all tie with Bruton's IDA. Jeff Whitfield had a grand slam home run for Flielers. Chris Drury and Paul Fitchett's strong pitching as well as Paul's 3 run homer paced Brutons. Matthew Grills pitched 3 inning shut out ball to lead Nor- ton Home Improvements toa 5 to 1 win over Brutons. Krista Olliffe catching and Paul Fitchett pit- ching were a strong combination for Brutons. Standard Electric wins fournament (From page 24) Parry and Rusty Hood played heads up ball at first and second base respectively. Graham Holt and Andrew Jones played good defensive ball for Brian's Towing. PERRY DIVISION At eight o'clock, Seagrave Park scored six runs in the first inning to help win this game over Irwin Smith by the score of 11 to 8. Chris Donnelly and Jason Edinger played great defensive ball while Jason Vernon and Robin Prentice connected for a couple of solid hits at the plate for Seagrave Park. For Irwin Smith, Greg Rankin pitched well while Darrin Hope, Chad Garvock and Troy Hope made some good defensive plays. At eleven o'clock, Seagrave Park solidly beat D.J. Taylor by the score of 17 to 9. For Seagrave Park, . Steve Desautels pitched an excellent game and Kevin Vale made some excellent plays as catcher. Adam McTaggart, Jeremy Ward and Jeremy Williams connected for a SOLID PREFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOORS Din * completely finished * ea couple of good hits. For D.J. Taylor, Andy French and Louis Whitfield connected for a couple of good hits. At two o'clock, Irwin Smith beat D.J. Taylor by the score of 10 to 4 to earn a berth in the semi- finals. For Irwin Smith, Andy Pereman and Greg Rankin shared the pitching duties while Wade Sheedy made some ex- cellent catches in left field. For D.J. Taylor, Stephen McFarlane and Sean Ball shared the pitching duties while Jason Eenling and Andy Meijerink con- nected for a base hit each. The Pee Wee Boys would like to thank all the umpires for the ex- cellent calls that they made dur- ing the tournament. Hats off to Todd, Carl, Jeff, Kevin, Gordie, Wayne and Steve.
