On Saturday, Aug. 20, David, Regenia, Avril & Kyle Walker of Scugog Point were guests aboard the Lake Ranger, a charter fishing boat owned and operated by Regenia's brother, Martin Hill of Whitby. Under clear blue sun- ny skies they left Whitby Har- bour, heading for the sparkling water of Lake Ontario..not know- ing the excitement that lay ahead! About a mile off shore, Martin set up his electronic down riggers and 4 fishing rods. Troll- ing back and forth they sat, talk- ed, and soaked up the lovely sum- mer sun. Then it happened..one rod popped up and they had their first fish. David held the rod reel- ing it in..after about 20 minutes of play, Martin netted the 10 1b. rain- bow. What excitement!! A little while later they had another hit and Regenia tried her hand at reeling it in, but, unfortunately, this one got away. i Before they knew it, it was time to come in. Afterward, they all returned to Regenia's parents home, for a delicious dinner, and lots of exciting talk!
