a 28 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, August 30 1988 - Greenbank Allstars gang up on Claremont The Greenbank Bantam Allstars put on a fine perfor- mance of fastball last Friday night against the powerful bats of Claremont. The game started off slowly but it picked up for the first runs of the game in the bottom of the third by Greenbank. It was Norm Crawford who hit a single to right field and Scott Porter did the same putting men on first and third for the Allstars. Greenbank smelled blood and it was John Ennis who loaded the bases with an infield single for the next batter who was Brett Puckrin. Puckrin drove a single to centre field driving in 2 runs. Paul Kett then widened the score by drilling a shot to right field Ken Bryant of the Port Perry XL Ea gles was called out on a close play at third In an OASA playoff game against Uxbridge Bandits Sunday afternoon. After aplit- ting the first two games In this series, the Bandits came to town and rolled up a 5-3 win over the XL Eagles, who left humerous runners on base throughout this game. The loss knocks the Eagles from OASA competition and means the Ban- dits will make the trip to championship tournament to be played In mid- September in Clifford, Ontario. Greenbank's next home game is Friday, Sept. 2, against Newmarket at 8:00 p.m. hopefully more in the coming year. After the presentation by the president Paul Pelow, the execu- tive meeting was held to name the coaches and set goals for the up- coming season. PPRA has decided once again to introduce the Bunnie pr: ram for anyone under the age of seven to learn to skate and play the game of Ringette, as well as attempt to place five or more teams into league competition. Coaches for the coming season arc Walter Senyk--Novice, Dan Harris--Petite, Lloyd Morden-- Tween, Jim Lawrence and Rob Cooper--Junior, and Paul Pelow-- Belle. Registration for these teams will take place at our local arena the weekend of September 9. See ad for further information.
