Busy schedule ahead Hospital Auxiliary meets On Monday, Sept. 18, the Port Perry Hospital Ladies Auxiliary held their first meeting of the fall with 20 ladies present. The presi- dent welcomed all back, and in- formed us of a very busy schedule ahead. She then opened the meeting with all repeating the Auxiliary Prayer in unison, and then asked Mr. Brown if he would give us some information and ideas on Letters NO FUTURE FOR MANY To The Editor: In a recent article in the Port Perry Star, "Glass runs for nomination in Victoria- Haliburton", there was an ob- vious oversight. He mentioned that Canadians want our children and grandchildren to have a future for which to live. As long as we have abortions many of our children will not have any futwe. Canadians want our children to have life foremost, and a clean en- vironment for which to live in secondary. I hope his concerns extend to the unborn child whose future is threatened by abortion. Clayton Connell, the 5 yr. pledge regarding the ex- pansion to our hospital. Mr. Brown then introduced George Stanoise who is the professional fund raiser, who explained some ideas on this pledge. Minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted, the treasurer's report was then given. The Tuck Shop report was given, and Isabel thanked all those who had worked in the Tuck Shop dur- ing the summer months. She then reviewed all the lovely woollen goods on the table. Ono Short had sent in a whole basket full of sweaters and other things and a friend of Gertie Wanamaker's had made some bunting bags. The Auxiliary "sincerely ap- preciates" all the knitting and other articles that each and every lady gives of their time to this work. Luella had sent out thank you and get well cards. Bonnie Gerrow thanked Pat and Camille for decoration of booties, and said 16 female and 22 male babies were born in hospital during the summer. Under new business Joyce gave an explanation of how Nevada tickets are run. Moved by Jeanne and second by Thelma that Joyce take over charge of tickets. It was also decided Jeanne and Joan Godley take over catering for the fashion show being held The Hospital Auxiliary will hold their Christmas bake sale Dec. 2nd at the hospital.
