October is a month of quiet beau- ty..a picture month..with the an- nual splendor ot Autumn colours all about us! Let us be thankful..with grateful hearts for our many riches..and give a thought to those not as fortunate! Nestleton Presbyterian Church Rev. Fred Swann conducted the 10 a.m. service in a most attrac- tive Thanksgiving setting, which had been arranged by Dorothy McCabe. Joyce Taylor at the organ, played the traditional hymns of Thanksgiving. The responsive Psalm was 65 and the Scripture II Corinthians, Ch. 9. The Sunday School was held while the service was in progress. Rev. Swann reminded the members to express thanks to God for all His gifts; to others around us; and 'Thanks Be To God For His Wondrous Gift." Ser- vice next Sunday will be held at 10 a.m. with David Faulkner in * charge. Mrs. McCabe was thank- ed for the artistic Thanksgiving arrangement. - The October meeting of the Ladies Aid was announced for Oct. 13th at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Norma Wolfe, 440 Kent St., Port Perry. | With quite a number of worship- .pers present for the special Nestleton United Thanksgiving Service, Oct. 9, at 11:15 a.m. the friendly greeters at the door were Ina Davis and fami- ly. The service opened with the call to worship..then sang the ra- diant hymn, 'All things bright and beautiful" - an English tradi- tional melody! The Sunday School choir sang 'A Thank You Song"', with Betty Headon leading the group and accompanying on the piano. Our minister Rev. D. Family Thanksgiving Celebrations Don and Norma Frew of Nestleton, hosted their family for the Thanksgiving festivities on Sunday, and those on hand were: David and Leah Frew, Dwayne and friend Nadine Hamilton of Oshawa, Andrew and Richard, Gary and Nancy Edgar, Erin, Ryan and Andrea, Ernie and Valerie Ellis, Tanya and Troy, Alan and Judy Frew; Diane and Ilene, and Virginia Frew and friend Shawna Mahoney from Prince Edward Island. Robert and Carol Mairs, Steven and Katie, of Nestleton, "hosted"' the Thanksgiving Day festivities for the family. Those present were: Norm and Bernice Mairs, Janetville, Allan Mairs, Ux- bridge, and Diane Slute and Julie of Prince Albert. They also celebrated two birthdays..Ber- nice Mairs big day was Wed., Oct. 5th, and Steven's, Friday, Oct. 7th. Our "very best wishes" to the celebrants!
