That is the only word that I can use to describe how we did with our "Country Kitchen" bake table that was set up at the Port Perry Applefest. A special thank you to all those who sup- ported us. YVONNE CHRISTIE Regional Councillor A STRONG VOICE FOR SCUGOG On Monday, October 3 we had a bowling match with Ted Whit- ter achieving a score of 104 points. Throughout the week we strong- ly concentrated on doing lots of baking which we need for the big bake sale at the Applefest. Tuesday evening (4th) a church service was provided by the Greenbank United Church. Being the first of the month there was the ever popular manicures held on the Wednesday. Also every available minute we have we are kept busy working on a variety of craft items for our upcoming Xmas bazaar. On behalf of the residents we would like to say a special thank you to the great kitchen staff for the lovely Thanksgiving dinner that they served to us over the holiday. After a restful long weekend we got back into the swing of things with a Bingo on Tuesday (11th). In the latter part of the afternoon 1 saw the treat wagon delivering sweet treats to everyone. After supper was a church service which was hosted by the Anglican faith. A special Thanksgiving turkey dinner was held on Thursday (13th) which was all prepared by the residents themselves. Several family members attended and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal. The residents deserve a big hand for the tremendous job they did. With the end of the second week we had a baking session. Several ladies were kept busy making turkey pies with the leftover turkey from the night before. Special birthday wishes to staff member Kim Owen. Regional Police said Richard Kent was riding a motorcycle near the intersection of Mary Street when he was involved in a colli- sion with a pick-up truck driven by Robert Rutschmann of Scugog Township. Police said Rutschmann was making a left turn into a parking lot when the accident occurred. CHARGES LAID Durham Regional Police have charged a 20 year old Scugog man with possession of stolen property and attempting to obstruct police by giving a false name. MUMS STOLEN A thief with a penchant for flowers struck the Best of Things shops at the Port Perry Plaza Sunday night.
