There were 12 tables of euchre played in the Hall on Friday even- ing. Winners for the ladies were 1st Effie Parrott, 2nd Annie Bowman and 3rd Doris Bell. For the men (by cut of the cards) 1st was Merv Storie, 2nd Joe McCaslin and 3rd was Iva Yake. Freeze-out winners were Verna Smith and Carolyn Parish while Caroline Haugh and Mary Cannon were second. Winners of the lucky draw were Stan Dick, Eileen Snooks and Bert Daniels. We look forward to having everyone back in two weeks. The community was saddened to learn of the passing of Dorothy Aird who was a neighbour on the 4th Conc. and a member of the Work on the new Port Perry Pentacostal Church on Durham Road 8 across from the Scugog Arena is progressing well, with the roof In place last week. It was only seven weeks ago the congregation gathered at the new site to turn the sod on their new building. If the current rate of construction keeps up, Rev. David Beesley and his congregation should be able to hold their first ser- vice In the new bullding before Christmas.
