Leaders needed for Scout group Prince Albert and Area New by llean Pugh This is a very important message to the parents of the boys in the 1st Scugog Beaver, Cub and Scout troop. There will be a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19th at 7:30 in the Manchester Church to get officers and a Scout leader. There are about 40 boys looking to you for help so they can carry on and enjoy scouting. There has been a troop in the Manchester area for many years so lets keep it alive. Anyone who enjoys boys and has some free time will be most welcome at the meeting. Congratulations to Donna Jean Brain and George London who were married on Saturday, Oct. 8th in the Prince Albert United Church. The happy couple will be living in Little Britain. The U.C.W. was held on Wednesday evening. President Diana Brough welcomed sixteen members and two visitors. The Devotion was taken by Ilean Pugh, Grace Beacock and Minnie Martin. Nice to have them home Scugog Island Area News by Mrs. Earl Reader Little Shannon Middleton of the Goreski area who is no stranger at the Sick Children's Hospital has returned to her home in restrictive harness after a week for bone surgery. Mr. Fred Smith, who, with his family, has spent many summers at Port View Beach and present- "ly retired there, found that he was suffering from many physical weaknesses that required surgery. So after successful surgery by a Toronto surgeon in the Oshawa Hospital and a 3 week stay, we are pleased to report he has returned home with ambition to get going again. Over the weekend it was our pleasure to meet a fairly recent resident Pamela Henshall to Sunrise Beach, when she spent a busy period as a numerator and a really interesting way to meet people, if you can remember them. d special kind We need a special kind of person.
