The sanctuary was tastefully decorated for the occa- sion. The guest minister for the day was the Rev. Gerald Sarcen, from Manotick, Ontario who delivered two fine sermons. Guest soloist in the morning was Audrey Beauchamp from Port Perry. For the evening service, we were privileged to have the Rotary Men's Choir from Whitby minister to us in song, under the direction of Margaret Webber. Refreshments and a time of fellowship was enjoyed in the lower hall following the evening service. There will be no regular wor- ship at Burns next Sunday, however church school will be at the regular time of 10 a.m. St. John's Church, Port Perry mark their 134th Anniversary next Sun- day with services at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m, The Ladies Bible Class met at the home of Margaret Davis last Wednesday evening. President Florence Ashton chaired the meeting. The theme was based on "Thanksgiving". The meeting opened with the singing of Thanks to God. Scripture, Psalm 138 was read by Chrissie McKinney. The Meditation given by the president was titled "Praise Giving", followed by prayer. Come, ye thankful people, come was sung. A poem from the Ideals Magazine "Autumn Tapestry' was read. Arrangements were made regar- ding our visit to Fairview Lodge on Monday evening, November 7th. Aldine Wick presented an in- teresting study on the story of Dinah, as found in Genesis, Chapter 34.
