Forder. Mr. Forder had en- joyed walking for the mail swing- ing his cane in a most carefree sort of way until late summer when he became unable to be as mobile. Sympathy is extended to his daughter Joyce, his sister Vera Forder of Hamilton and his many other relatives. The Forder family was struck with double loss with the passing of Mrs. Charlotte (Forder) Byers also last week. Sympathy is ex- tended to her family which in- cludes Harold Forder and Don Forder of this area and their . families. Walter and Audrey Wright have been having company for the past several weeks. Their youngest daughter Elaine Young and her two daughters Hollie and Kirstie of Hamilton spent some time with her parents. When Grant Young came to pick up his family he brought with him Walter's aunt Vera Forder also of Hamilton for a visit. Later in the week Eleanor Wright of Toronto attended her uncle Wm. Forder's funeral and visited her parents. On Sunday Walter.and Audrey Wright accompanied by Eleanor Wright of Toronto and Vera Forder of Hamilton attended the baptism of Kirstie Christine daughter of Elaine and Grant Young in the St. Timothy's Anglican Church, Hamilton. On Thursday Grace and Ann Julia Bajema, Kathleen Petrie, Elizabeth Peeters and Gerald and Joyce Kelly represented Blackstock Fair at the annual meeting of District 4 of 0.A.A.S. held in Lindsay. Guest speaker Gord Malcolm gave an excellent talk on How Fairs can Best Deal with the Media. Gord's speech was very well received by the over 100 delegates from the 21 fairs in the District. Blackstock fair date was set as Saturday, August 26, 1989. 'On November 9 a bus will be leaving Blackstock at 9 a.m. under the sponsorship of the Pine Ridge Garden Club to go to the Royal Winter Fair. Don and Bea had come to attend the Peeters-Kelly wedding on Oct. 22. On Wednesday evening a good number of parents attended the Parents' Night at Cartwright High School. For many this was their first opportunity to meet the new principal Mr. Peter Fawcett. On Thursday evening the students of C.H.S. enjoyed a very successful Hallowe'en dance at the Recreation Centre. The costumes were excellent, the music good and a large crowd all added to the success of the dance. Hallowe'en has been well celebrated in Blackstock as on Saturday night the annual Nursery School Hallowe'en Dance was also most successful. Then again on Sunday night the Blackstock Youth Group held a "pot luck supper and Hallowe'en party complete with costumes and games. Maxine Brock; Low - Betty Barnett; Draws - Gladys Potts, Dorothy Beech, Wilma VanCamp, Gladys Potts. » | Eldest resident dies 4-H Reports On October 19th the fourth "Blackstock Crazy Cooks' meeting took place. At this meeting we cooked all the time, making Pizza Soup, Port Schnitzel and Honey-Garlic Spareribs. The Pizza Soup was Very Good, the Pork Schnitzel was good but cold and the Honey- Garlic Spareribs were delicious. It was a very yummy meeting. The 5th meeting of the "Blackstock Crazy Cooks" took place on Oct. 25th when both clubs met together. We were to have a guest speaker but he could not come. We discussed lamb, the reasons we eat it and the ways to cook it. The two combined clubs ~made Caesar Salad with Bacon and Dijon Lambchops. Although not many members had ever eaten lamb, we all agreed it was very good. After we washed the dishes, the meeting was adjourned. On Thursday evening at the C.C.P.S. a good number of parents and friends attended the Fall Concert of C.C.P.S. Concert Band under the direction of John Beirness. This concert was in- tended to introduce the audience to the members and the extreme- ly varied repetoire of the Band. A very enjoyable concert. Three dates of interest to many of you - On Tuesday, Nov. 1, all candidates meeting for the Federal election will be held at C.C.P.S. at 8 p.m. on Wed. Nov. 2 all candidates for the positions of Mayor and Regional Council will - speak at the Latcham Centre, Port Perry at 7:30 p.m. Next Saturday evening, Nov. 12, Commencement Exercises of 'C.H.S. will take place at C.C.P.S. as the Rec.
