In the first game, IGA collect- ed its first win of the season with a 2-0 shutout over Remax. Danny Lyons had both the goals for the winners with assists going to Scott Jefferies, Chad Barker and Jeremy Heyworth. Troy Campbell was in goal for IGA and earned the shutout. The second game of the day saw Port Perry Printing outlast Davids Hairstyling 4-3. Aaron Levy scored twice for the Printérs with singles to Jona- than Froates and Jonathan Reid. Chris Jamieson was the big playmaker .with three assists and Clinton Keeler had one. For Davids, Glen McCready, Marc Versage and Jeffrey Gunn had the goals'and Jay Fletcher pitched in with an assist. Jamie Clarke and Heather Tredway played well in goal for their teams, There were two Novice H.L. games played last Friday (P.D. Day for public school sltudents) Remax got a good perfor- mance from Shane Norton who scored five goals plus an assist to lead his team to an 8-3 win over Van Camp. Shane scored four of his goals in the first period. Other marksmen for Remax were Alex Dell with one and Tyler Wooten with two. Tyler also had three assists. Matt Phoenix opened the scoring on a nice end to end rush. With Lewis scrambling around Steven Cockrane picked ~ up a loose puck and beat Kyle McClymont who was having a good game to make the score 2-0 at the end of the first. The second period saw Tripp score 2 more goals. The first by Steven Cockrane assisted by Matt Phoenix then Matt Phoenix unassisted gave Tripp a 4-0 lead. Michael Leeming making his first start in net for Tripp came up with great saves to keep Lewis off the score board. Lewis got on the board with a great solo effort by Jason Vader. Then just over 1 minute later Justin Wooton unassisted scored for Lewis to get them back in the game. These 2 goals seemed to give them a lift as they kept the pressure on Tripp but were unable to get any closer. Matt Phoenix scored his 3rd of the game to help Tripp to their 4th ~ straight win. Saturday, October 29th Scugog Lumber 5 Whitby Auto Wreckers 1 This game saw the Lumbermen pick up their 2nd win of the weekend. Jason Brown assisted by Steven Hiemstra give Whitby the early lead. Jon Jamieson unassisted scored to tie up the game then with the first period coming to a close Jason Hopkins assisted by Stewart Bruce gave the Lumbermen a 2-1 lead. Michael Balmforth making a rare - start for Whitby in net and the ever steady Ian Johnson for Scugog kept both teams from run- ning the score of this fast paced game.
