But that's about to change. As a part of our 15 million dollar expansion program Global is building and improving the transmitter grid that allows us to carry our signal to an additional 700,000 new Ontario viewers. And last week Jan LePage and Jeanne Jackman, both RN's, helped the girls learn some of the First Aid techniques outlined in the Guide Program Book. The First Ald Badge Is one of the mandatory ones for obtaining the All-Round Cord. The giris will be writing their First Ald tests this week and their leaders wish them best of luck. At Little Britain tournament _-- Bantams reach B final by Dave Talbot After a slow start to the season, the Sportsland Bantam B's travelled to Little Britain for a tournament on Nov. 3. Their first game of the three game tournament was against All Saints from Peterborough. The team had a slow start and found themselves five goals in the hole at the end of the first period. At 2:09 of the second period Mike .Olaisen got on the. scoreboard for Port, assisted by Craig Leask and Mike Bardeleben. All Saints added another two goals in the third to make the score 7-1. Matt Willets played the game between the pipes. The Bantam's next game was in Cannington against Paul Epp- ing on Nov. 4. The guys were fighting mad about their loss the previous night and played better hockey. Down 1-0 late in the first, Scott Menzies tied it up assisted by Todd Taylor. Port came out hitting hard in the third and scored two unanswered goals by Craig Leask, with assists going to Mike Bardeleben (2) and Chris MacLeod. The Peterborough team tried desperately to tie it up in the third, but strong goal tending by Matt Willets held them to only one goal. The final score was 3-2 for Port. Our next game was played that evening in Cannington against St. James, another team from Peter- borough. Port, capitalizing on a slow goalie, scored 4 goals in the first period. These were scored by: Todd Taylor 2 goals 1 assist; 'Brad Moase 1 goal 3 assists; and Scott Menzies 1 goal 1 assist. St. James made it close, but a late goal by Mike Bardeleben, assisted by Craig Leask and Ken Winslow sealed the victory. The final score was 5-4. : This sent Port to the ""'B" final against Bewdley. The Port boys played well, but were destroyed almost singlehandedly by one Bewdley player. Our goals were scored by: Brad Moase, assisted by Todd Taylor, and by Chris MacLeod, unassisted. The final score was 6-2. Some two hours later Port travelled to Markham for a league game and, not showing any fatigue skated away with a 3-1 win. Good defensive play, good goaltending and good hustle by the forwards earned the win. The goals were scored by: Brad Moase (2), and Mike Bardeleben, assists went to Craig Leask (2), Mike Olaisen, and Mike Bardeleben. ~-- Our next game was Manvers visiting Port Perry. In the first period and until the last minute of the second period it was a scoreless tie, until Todd Taylor scored from Brad Moase and Chris MacLeod. Seconds later Manvers scored on a breakaway to tie the game. In the third, Manvers added to their lead and led 3-1 going into the final munites of the game. At 1:16 Scott Menzies scored on a nice pass from Todd Taylor to make the game 3-2. A minute later with time running out Todd Taylor tied the score assisted by Darryll vander Slagt.
