Blonde sale It was a fine evening for farmers and auction fans Saturday at Mal- mont Farms in Blackstock. The Ontario Blonde d'Aquitaine Association held its Annual Con- signment Sale with Garry Powell of Port Perry taking auctioneer du- ties. The rare beef cow is called "The Ultimate Breed" by those who know it, because of its ability to ain weight quickly and produce ean beef. Forty lots were auctioned off Saturday night, and although some bidders came away with bar- gains, most of the cattle were not sold cheaply. One youngster born this year was sold to Stanley Tay- lor (former mayoralty candidate) for $1,500. More than 300 people attended the auction--some came from as far away as Nova Scotia to buy Blondes. T-shirts reading "Cattlemen Pre- fer Blondes" sold even quicker than the cattle. of To our friends: ag "Cattlemen prefer Blondes", says Jason Greer's T- Shirt, as he leads a rare Blonde in the auction block. That's auctioneer Garry Powell at back.
