The Jr. Choir favoured us with a beautiful song 'He Comes a Child Like Me." Sr. Choir singing "Let the Saviour In" followed by the lighting of the First Candle, then sang "Light one Candle' all the music added so much to the service. Next Sunday, church at 11:00 a.m. There will be a pre- Christmas sing-song starting at 10:45. Come and join with us for some good old tunes and Christmas Carol singing. A date to keep on your calendar. Choir practice for the Christmas Eve Service will be held every Thursday evening at 8:15 at Greenbank Church. We must congratulate our local artists. Michael Green and Tonya Trainor, who took a supporting role in the Choral Society's play - Oliver. Sally & Bert Bishop & sons of Washago had dinner on Sat. with Don & Helen McKean to celebrate Sally's birthday. We are all so happy to know Sally is regaining her strength back. We wish her "good health' & thank everyone for remembering Sally in their prayers. Our sympathy is extended to Mrs. Pearl Couves in the recent death of her brother Thomas (Mac) Finney of Angus, Ont. Nine girls have been enrolled in the 1st Greenbank Guide Co., completing their Tenderfoot Test work. They are: Connie Choi, Sara Clarke, Kristine Collins, Heather Harris, Dana Hooker, Juli-Anna Lee, Stacie McBride, Stacey Richardson and Amanda Robinson. At the meeting, attend- ed by relatives and friends, these new Guides entertained by sing- ing the Guide Law song, and serv- ed refreshments, as they worked to earn their Hostess Badge. Fall activities for the 20 Green- bank Guides have included a five- mile hike on the Seaton Trail, sell- ing Guide calendars, holding a Bake Auction, and working on the Citizen Badge. We are planning a Christmas craft night and on Dec. 13 will be carolling in Greenbank as our Christmas meeting. Listen for us! In January we will hold a weekend camp at a site near Cannington. We would like to thank the com- munity for your support of our Guiding activities. The Community Hospital Aux- iliary are having their annual bake sale & special sale from the Tuck Shop on Friday, Dec. 2 star- ting at 11:30 a.m. at the hospital. Any ladies who would like to donate baking - it would be appreciated. Our first mixed men & ladies basketball & volleyball night was a lot of fun and with much en- thusiasm. We will need more peo- ple to keep the program running, so come out this Thursday night from 8-9:30 and bring a friend - call 985-9127. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Rodd have just returned from a very en- joyable holiday in Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hunter, Jen- nifer & Adam were Saturday evening dinner guests with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hunter, Port Perry. The November meeting of Greenbank Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Muriel Gibson with a real good at- tendance, who answered the Roll Call with memories of their grandmother's treasure. Doris Hill was thanked for representing the Institute at the high school commencement and presenting awards to Shelly McMillian and Julia Harris in the Basic Course. A few highlights were given on the Area Convention and the resolution re lights on school buses was explained & "why it was sustained. Other provinces have amber lights which are flashed before the red lights, as a warning, lights should be the same on all school buses in every province across Canada. The convenor then introduced the speaker Mrs. Mona Mustard, who showed us beautiful pictures and interesting and informative commentary of Australia. Our hostess served a delicious dessert and we all enjoyed the followship over a cup of tea. Mr. and Mrs. Don McKean and sister Anne Wells of Oshawa visited their mother Mrs. Florence Archer in Midland on her 91st birthday. The afternoon unit of the U.C.W. will hold their Christmas meeting with a pot luck luncheon at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 9th at 12:15. An invitation is ex- tended to all the ladies. Please come and bring a friend. The Evening Unit will be holding their meeting on December 7th at 8 p.m. in the church. There will be a cookie ex- (BY change, each person is to bring 6 doz. cookies plus 3 and the recipe. The Community Cookbook is at the printers and we should have it for our meeting. (A great gift idea) Miss Earla Hill has just return- ed from a very enjoyable two week vacation in the Barbados. ~ Mrs. Ida Young of Crystal Lake visited with her brother Warren McCready.
