18 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 6, 1988 by Chris Wokral My, how time flies! It's hard to believe that there are only eight more full days of school until the holidays begin. Our days of fren- zied shopping are numbered and are quickly dwindling away mak- ing room for Christmas. Dare 1 say it--"there are only 16 more shopping days until Christmas!" I personally find it increasingly hard to find time to fit everything into my busy and hectic schedule. With all that's happening in and aroudn town, it's hard to remem- ber whether you're coming or go- ing. Now more than ever it's impor- tant to have done, and hand in, all of your assignments on time. Re- member, the exams are only a short time away and all your marks count. Everyone is reminded that the Citrus has finally arrived at the school, and are asked to pick up any orders not being delivered, on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of this week. We wish to thank all of the people who have helped support the music depart- ment, without which our goals would never have been met. The music department wishes to formally invite everyone in the Port Perry area to attend our two Christmas Concerts which are rapidly approaching. The first one, aimed specifically towards the younger generation, is to be held Wednesday December 7th at 7:30 p.m. This annual "Child's Christmas" concert will be per- formed by the Grade Nine music students. The second concert, performed by students in Grade 10 to 13, is scheduled for Wednesday Decem- ber 14th. Be sure to attend both for a fun-filled, "holly-jolly" good time! A special thanks go out to the members of the Senior Wind who worked so hard to sort, bag and carry all of the Citrus. Mr. Svoboda has asked anyone interested in joining the Cross- Country Skiing Team see him soon. The first competition is only a week away, December | 8) 1 Christmas concerts are coming 13th, and time is needed to orga- nize the teams. Provided there's snow, that is. This Friday, Port Perry High School is hosting its annual semi-formal Christmas Dance for all the students. The tickets will be on sale in front of the office all of this week. The tickets cost $4 with an activity card, and $5 with- out. Guest passes are also availa- ble. Look for our school article next week and most of the coming weeks throughout the up and coming new year. From all the staff and students here at Port Per- ry High School, have a safe and happy holiday season. Merry Christmas, everyone!
