Several ven- dors joined the residents and dis- played quite a variety of items for purchase. This has proven to be one of the main attractions in the com- munity as hundreds of shoppers stopped in to check out the great buys. This year the Nursing Home supported the theme of "Country Christmas." The halls and rooms were brightly decorated with strings of hand-strung popcorn, baskets, antiques, old pictures, along with enjoyable Christmas piano music lingering through the halls. The Gingerbread Bazaar was held at the Villa. Many coloured lollipops and candy canes led the pathway to some great deals. All-in-all, there were many fea- tured articles such as weaving, ce- ramics, folk art, baking, Christ- mas crafts, knitting and many other numerous items. The resi- dents of the Nursing Home have worked very hard in preparing for this bazaar and are extremely pleased with the successful out- come. All proceeds raised at this event will go to the Residents' Activity Fund which supports many things such as craft supplies, bus costs, trips, and various recreational ac- tivities etc. Obituary Samuel Anderson Samuel McGeorge Anderson passed away after a lengthy il- Iness at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry on Thursday, November 17, 1988.
