Obituary Leona Violet Stanton Born in Reach Township on the 9th Concession, at the old Homestead of her great- grandfather Charlie Brown, daughter of the late Alexander Brown and Eleanor (nee Monroe), passed away peaceful- ly at the Oshawa General Hospital on November 22, 1988 after a valient struggle during the past year. She attended Bethesda Public School and Church, and Uxbridge High School. Her husband Loren K. Stanton and two daughters predeceased her. Predeceased by Laura Prentice. Aunt of Gordon Prentice of Port Perry and Helen Pells of Oakville. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Victor Rout Phyllis (Oshawa), Mrs. Jerry Cain (Shirley), Blackstock, 5 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. She worked for Atkins ladies fashions and Glory Anne childrens fashions in Oshawa and later in 1956 moved to the T. Eaton Co. at the Oshawa Shopping Centre as department head in ladies fashions. She retired with her husband in 1974 and they built a new home on Scugog Island, and later in 1978 they moved back to Port Perry. She enjoyed many crafts, play- ing the organ, an avid gardener, active in the seniors 101 club, marathon bridge, seniors square dance group and sang in the senior's choir in Port Perry.
