Scugog GC of C needs more nominations for 1989 Directors The Annual Meeting of the Scugog Chamber of Commerce will take place next Tuesday, January 10 at the Catholic Church Hall. ' C of C Directors are expecting a good turnout for this annual meeting, and in addition to the business meeting, have arranged for a fun-filled evening of music and entertainment featuring Roger James. The evening begins at 6:00 P.M. with a friendship 'hour and at 7:00 P.M. a 7 Course Meal will be served. Tickets are available for $25.00 per person from Con- way Place, Frank Real Estate or the Port Perry Star. There are still a few vacancies on the Board of Di- rectors for 1989-90, and anyone wishing to run for the office of Director is invited to submit their name. Obitvary--McClurg THOMAS JAMES MCCLURG Thomas James McClurg, born in Toronto, 1923, son of the late Ar- thur James and Sarah Rae McClurg, passed away in peaceat - Community Memorial Hospital in Port Perry, December 22, 1988. He attended Queen Victoria Public School & Parkdale Col- legiate in Toronto and served in Halifax and Newfoundland during . the war playing saxaphone and clarinet in the Navy band. He married Geraldine Bursey of St. John's on May 9, 1945 and subse- quently returned to Toronto with his bride. He worked for the Toronto Transit Commission from 1946 to 1981, beginning as a street car driver and ending his career as a bus driver for Gray Coach in Available on VHS and BETA Niagara Falls. He retired to Port Perry in 1980. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 419. Father of three, Carol Ann Hobbs (Port Perry), Lois Gail Feller (New York) and James Ray (Scarborough) and grand- father of six - Sarah, Sky, Mat- thew, Simone, Michael and Brian. He is survived by hi. wife Geraldine (Port Perry) and all of - his descendents. He was an honourable father, devoted to his wife and family. Funeral services were held at the Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry with his niece, the "Reverend Diane McClurg Strickland (Toronto), officiating.
