MoJacks out-shot Trenton 37- 26 in this one. Brad Bricknell turned in a solid game, especially early in the second period with the score close when he made several superb stops on a Hawk power play. of But the MoJacks were in con- . "trol almost from the first face-off and played fine hockey at both ends of the rink. : The game turned a little chi py late in the third with the wks Kevin Jacobs taking a five minute slashing penalty for a chop at the legs of Paul Barry. Later, Jacobs took a swing from the players bench at Steve Foun- tain and that touched off a brief scuffle with both Fountain and Ja- cobs getting game misconducts. NOTEPAD: This was the second game back in the line-up for Steve Fountain after an absence of sever- al games. He's a definite impact player who can make his presence - felt on the ice in many ways with his physical play, his ability to lug the puck, and a good shot from the point. Defenseman Steve Connors org ard check into the Joa u unday night an apparel - jure his ribs and shoulder. While Ellis, Fitchett and Har- man were putting the points on the score-sheet, several guys who did not figure in the scoring had good games: Chris Edmondson, Paul Barry, Kris Lavereau and Bill Lawrenson all worked hard in this winning effort, as did Greg War- riner and Steve Durham. £7 MoJacks have won four an tied one in their last five outings, and this is a better hockey team than a month ago. The players are working hard, and they seem much more com- fortable on the ice. And for a team that struggled to get goals early in the season, the puck is starting to - go in the net. MoJacks have some very big games coming up in the next few weeks, Saring this Saturday evening (Jan. 14) when they face the best in the League at the Scu- gog Arena in the annual All-Star match. Game time is 8:00 PM. " The following night, they host the Little Britain Merchants at the Scugog Arena with face-off at 7:30 for a regular season match. The last time the Merchants were in town, they dumped the MoJacks 6-1. Over the last five games, Mo- Jacks have scored 35 goals and given up 21. The team currently has 28 points on 12 wins and four ties, ten behind league-leading Lake- field, but the MoJacks are within striking distance of several teams in the standings.
