A living testament to the old saying "You're never too old to learn," Mrs, Davidge discovered hidden artistic talénts when she was 70. She began taking YMCA cours- es in Toronto (where she lived for many years) with a friend, study- ing copper cnamelling and ceram- ics. Over the years she has made copper enamel dishes, jewellery and acid etchings. "She's got quite a flair for it," Bemice says. Mrs. Davidge is also an avid knitter and is well known for her crochet work. While living in Toronto with her late husband, Mrs. Davidge visited the family cottage at Wil- liam's Point, Caesarea. Ten years ago she had it winterized and moved in full-time. Two years ago she moved to Port Perry with Bemice. Mrs. Davidge has two daughters and five sons (three of whom are still living). She also has 12 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Last Wednesday night February 8, she was feted with a special birthday cake at the Port Perry Senior Citizens Club, where both she and Bemice are members. Her actual birthday was Febru- ary 10th.
