It would have cost him $18,000 but the well was as dry as a bone. People. all - over _Scugog Township, and all over East- ern North America for that matter, are experiencing the tail end of one of the driest - winters in recent history. 'Wells are drying up faster 'now than they did last sum- mer. There's little or no snow accumulation. The drought never ended, and experts are predicting dire consequences if the. situa- tion doesn't soon change. On Good Friday in Welling- ton, the MoJacks kept their playoff hopes alive with a dra- matic overtime victory of their own. : . Jennifer wore her dainty hat on Saturday March 25 and was named winner of the Downtown Merchants' Association's Easter Bonnet Con- test. Judge Wendy Davis patrolled the downtown for two hours, looking for the most stun- ning Easter bonnets and fing decided on Jennifer's. The little girl won $100 cash for her efforts, and she says she will buy herself a kite with the money.
