We discussed further plans for the 50th anniversary in September. Chrissie McKinney was in charge of the programme, and shared with us some interesting highlights of the trip to Ireland, that Chrissie and Dr. McKinney enjoyed last summer. Our hostess served us a delicious lunch, and we enjoyed a nice time of fellowship together. Upon return- ing home, we drove into a dandy snow storm coming down highway 12. And we thought spring had arrived. Another euchre party at the Community Centre this Thurs- day, April 20 at 8:00 p.m.. Everyone welcome. We extend our sympathy to Veronica Colangelo and her son during this time of bereavement. Veronica's husband, Roy passed away last week, after a long illness. Brooklin Horticultural Society hosted the District no. 17 Hor- ticultural Annual meeting last Saturday, which was held at Brooklin United Church. 116 peo- ple registered. From all reports, I'understand it was a very event- ful day. We commend our Brooklin Society in top honours in receiving first prize for the Socie- ty Table Display prepared by Lois Daw. First prize for the Yearbook by Dianne McHale. Also first prize for the newsletter which is issued monthly prepared by Gor- don Wick. Congratulations! We were pleased to welcome The Rev. Floyd Babcock, a representative from the Canadian Bible Society to Burns pulpit last Sunday morning. Debbie Batten and Bill Burgess read the Scriptures. We wish to thank everyone for making the Torchmen concert such a resounding success, with the church filled to capacity with chairs in the aisle.
