They get at least one call each Spring over this way when someone gets that careless urge to burn off un- wanted grass. There were 14 tables of euchre played on Friday evening in the Hall. Winners for the ladies were 1st-Doris Hill, 2nd-Fran Gibson, and 3rd-Iva Yake. For the men: 1st-Bruce Houghland, 2nd-Kevin Martin, and 3rd-Stan Beach. Freeze-out winners were Rita Parratt and Ken Fray, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Cole were 2nd. Win- ners of the lucky draws were Vera Brown, Rita Parratt and Hilda Hopkins. There will be another euchre in two weeks. U.C.W. members, don't forget that we would like 2 pies from each of you for the Geer sale this Saturday which starts at 10:30 a.m.. Congratulations to Judy (Foreman) MacPherson and her husband Ron on the arrival of a wee boy on Thursday evening. Judy lived for many years in Utica' with her aunt and uncle Irene and Earl Fielding. Irene visited Judy and baby Jesse in hospital on Sunday. Eileen Slute and Alice Ross at- tended the District Horticultural Greenbank. Work has begun on the new home being built for Bruce and Marie Geer on the northern part of our village and I for one will be watching as work progresses.
