The Stirling resident will be in Port Perry at Scugog Memorial Library Saturday April 22 to talk about his work. See story. Art from wood at Library The next exhibition at Scugog Memorial Library will be the wonderful wooden sculptures of Werner Arnolds. It opens on Saturday, April 22 and continues to May 12. Werner will be present "on Saturday, Aprill 22 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. to talk about his craft. ; A desire for change brought Werner to Canada from Switzerland at the age of 22. After one year in Quebec City he mov- ed to Toronto. " While working during the day at unchallenging jobs he enrolled in night courses at the Beacon In- stitute and Central Tech., where he studied commercial art and in- terior design. After graduation and a very short stint in a commercial art studio, he accepted a position at Eatons in the display department. Five years working there gave Werner enough experience in - display to begin his own business. Werner freelanced in window display throughout the Toronto area from 1969 to 1984.
