Sister Marilyn Jones & W.P. Brother Wilfred Alexander (Protem) opening in regular form with Officers in their respective stations. A very fine attendance of Sisters & Brothers from other Chapters made for a most en- joyable evening-of socialability! W.M. Marilyn & W.P. Wilfred were pleased to welcome in the East...D.D.G.M. Catherine Ellis -of District No. 11, Toronto, Grand Trustee. Ken Summersford of Durham, P. D.D.G.M's Joan Esdale, Bessie Cosway, Thelma Beerthuizen and Eileen Henley, Grand Rep. Peter Barr, State of Louisiana from Ontario & Grand Rep. John Agnew, Province of British Columbia & the Yukon, from Ontario. Many other members & visitors were welcomed...and a special welcome to the Past Matrons & Patrons, who were present in great numbers for the inspira- tional occasion! Inthe business section...several money raising ventures are scheduled for May & June. Birth- day Draw, May 11, so pick up your tickets from Sister Bonnie Windsor 985-9967 as soon as you can. A Yard & Bake Sale May 20, with all kinds of goodies & items for the sale. This project should be a fund raiser! The W.M. 'Marilyn has a special project for the year...a donation to our own Port Perry Hospital Expansion fund...and she plans for a sizeable amount...for this most Worthy cause. We are a Benevolent order...so let us do our utmost! After conclusion of Chapter . business all retired to the lower Hall for the entertaining pro- gram. A 'cake walk' proved to be fun as well as profitable! A beautiful solo was much ap- preciated, sung by John Agnew of Schomberg, with Carol Morrow accompanying on the piano. A tempting lunch was served, buffet style, by Sarah Brunton & Isabell Wilson, to close an even- ing of fellowship! Smorgashbord Supper Was Great! » A delightful Smorgasbord sup- per with all kinds of tempting food was enjoyed by many folks at the Nestleton Community Centre on Friday, April 21. This was the first Smorgasbord sponsored by OSHAWA MODEL RAILROAD Ca Saturday, April 29th 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM EASTDALE COLLEGIATE HIGH SCHOOL (Corner of Harmony Rd. N. and" Adelaide St., Oshawa) ADMISSION: Adults 3.00; Children under 14, *1.00; Under 5 Free. Layouts, Operating Models, Demonstrations. the Court Lady Snowbirds L1930...and not as good a crowd as they had hoped for...but believe me...they are just beginning! Those who missed the supper were the losers...my prediction in the future is...we'll take delight in many more such meéals with large crowds...they are not yet known for their succulent, delicious Smorgasbords! Our congratula- tions to them! Caesarea Euchre Results Reporting for two weeks: (Week of April 12). At the Wednesday evening euchre in the Caesarea Hall...Norman Rohrer & Paul Krawetts tied for the high score with 82. Sharon Smith came in second with 79. Jim Emerton - - low with 45. John Moore made the lunch. Kathleen Watts held the most lone hands for the month of March with 12. (Week of April 19) High for the euchre this past week was Nor- man Rohrer with 82. Paul Krawetts had 78 and Albert Watts 48. Dorothy Edwards supplied the lunch. Congratulations to all these fine euchre players! Nestleton United Church A very fine attendance on a cool Sunday morning, April 23, 11:15 a.m. for the Nestleton United. A "friendly greeting at the door was given by Arlene Malcolm and her three daughters... Heather, Alison & Erin. A number of visitors were welcomed. Scripture - Acts 14: 8-18 & John 13: 31-35 was read by Intern Minister Norman Seli. He also presented a fine message to the Sunday School. Rev. Dale Davis spoke on "God Within Us"...and summed up this ex- cellent sermon very neatly with..."Love one another...as God loves us' and Prayer. The ladies choir sang harmoniously "I Want To Walk With Jesus Christ' with Gwen Malcolm - organist. Joelle Priebe, Leslie MacKen- zie & David Weir were received into the church by Confirmation of Profession of Faith, and Henry & Effa Stainton were received by Transfer from Tyrone United Church. Nestleton Presbyterian Church The regular church service on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. was conducted by David Faulkner, with Joyce Taylor capably atten- ding at the organ. Responsive reading - Psalm 22 - Scripture - Psalm 138. The sermon was bas- ed on how the word of God wag prophesied by David many years before - that Christ would come and live on earth and be our Saviour! Sunday School classes held each Sunday...all children welcome. Dorothy Lee - Superintendent! "Caesarea Community Church At the friendly Caesarea Church...a very good attendance with Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford con- ducting the Service. Harry Kiezebrink brought the message entitled "Living After The Cove- nant' based on I Samuel 16: 1-9. Erika Kiezebrink led the song ser- vice with Kathleen Watts at the organ. The Sunshine Club on Tuesday: 4-5 p.m. (all groups). Family Interests A warm welcome home from the sunny south to Norm & Ber- nice Mairs, who returned April 15...after a great winter "weatherwise" in Largo, Florida. Vicki Bannister & friend Lance of Peterborough, had supper with her grandma Neta Fish & Calvin & Yvonne Holland & family of Blackstock, over last .weekend...an enjoyable occasion! Daughter Marlene Bannister of Peterborough, spent a couple of days with her mother Neta Fish and during her visit they shopped in Lindsay on Monday...later visiting her other daughter Audrey Leishman in Reaboro, before returning to Neta's home. Neta's granddaughters Vicki Bannister & Karen Pannett of Peterborough, visited with her this last Sunday...lots of pleasant get-to-gethers! Nestleton U.C.W. . Cancer Campaign News The sale of Daffodils was a great success in Port Perry, and all the volunteers were through selling by 2 p.m. The flowers were beautiful this year - later than usual due to weather problems. The canvass is moving right along in most areas...but can't find canvassers for Caesarea. If you will try to help with a canvass there...it would be wonderful! Please don't let us all down - we need the Caesarea area...the campaign will suffer greatly if we don't have a canvass - so - get with it folks - and give it a whirl!
