Brooklin Horticultural Society Narcissus show planned Ashburn and Area News by Florence Ashton - The Brooklin Horticultural Society will hold its 'Narcissus Show" and general meeting on Wednesday, April 26, 8:00 p.m. at Brooklin United Church. Topic will be "Hemerocalis" (day lilies). Guest speaker will be Douglas Lycett. A good number turned out for the euchre party at the Communi- ty Centre last Thursday night with 10 tables playing. Prize win- ners are as follows: Lone hands to Mary Poots, Ladies first Kay Brown and second prize to Marg Gall. Men's first to Verna Draper, second prize to Joan Fleming (where are the men?) Door prize winner Hilda Hopkins. 50/50 draw won by Mary Poots. Next euchre will be on Thursday, May 25. Happy Birthday wishes to Hazel McCullough of Myrtle who celebrated her 90th birthday last week. Many friends and neighbours enjoyed afternoon tea with her on this happy occasion. Bill and Bernice Gardner at tended the CBMI retreat at Geneva Park at Orillia recently. Doug and Florence Ashton visited with Mrs. Ruth Purdy of Orangeville last Sunday. Rev. McEntyre's sermon on Sunday morning was titled "'A Bolt From The Blue." Scriptures were read by Ruth Oliver and Bill Gardner. Next Sunday will be the Scout Parade who will be assisting with the morning worship.
