It thrives in the presence of heat, darkness, and moisture, and is most likely to attack natural materials, espe- cially cottons and leather. How do you get rid of it? If the item is washable, wash it in extremely hot water. Use a chlorine bleach to kill the mildew fungus and decolorize the stains. If the item is leather, send it to your IFI member professional drycleaner. If the item cannot be laundered or bleached, ask your IFI Member pro- fessional for advice. In some cases, there is actual damage in addition to staining, and the item cannot be restored, . Prevention is the best solution to Run of the Mil-Dew * tended to later. This. is a very important topic for both amateur growers, farmers and organic growers of fruit and vegetables. I still have people who ask "What is organic growing?" The way our environment is being molested, thank goodness there are chemical companies now developing safe insecticides which do no harm to neither man nor our good earth. I have my own '"'manure- manufacturing plant," 2 rabbits and hand-pick any bugs or mix up my own spray using rhubarb leaves. You do not have to be an outdoor gardener, your houseplant will at sometime develop "bugs" and you will learn what is safe to use indoors. This - should be a very informative evening and we invite you to join us at 8:00 p.m. at the Nestleton Hall. The Junior Garden Club will meet at 6:45 to talk about, soils and planting annuals.
