A property ownerin Ward 4 is seeking permission to sever a 100-acre parcel of land into into two 50-acre lots. David Wooley, who lives on Concession 5 bought the land two years ago, has built a house on it, and is now looking for per- mission to sever the parcel into two 50 acre lots. He told council Monday the land is designated agricultural in the Official Plan, but in actu- al fact it haslittleifany value as farmland. Agencies such as Ag and Food, the MNR and the Conser- vation Authority have ex- pressed no objection to the sev- erance application. However, the Regional Planning Department is op- posed. His application would carry much more weight ifit got the OK from the local council. Three charged inbreak/enter of apartment At approximately 11 Sun- day night, Police responded toa ~ complaint of unwanted per- sons in a residence on Water Street. . Three parties were asked toleave, and the Police stood by while they vacated the premis- es. Approximately 15 minutes later, police received a call that three parties had entered an apartment nearby. One person was observed carrying articles from the apartment. Police arrested the party for break, enter and theft. The police report that the three parties appear to have caused some damage to the apartment. A small fire was set on the floor of the apartment, burning some articles of clothing and a water bed was slashed . A quantity of cash was also reported stolen from the apart- ment. Heather, Frederick and Michael Schaal of Oshawa were charged with break and enter, theft, possession of stole n prop- erty and mischief. Heather Schaal was charged with possession of dan- gerous weapons resulting from a complaint about her posses- ing a kitchen knife. Two charged impersonating Police officers Two parties were charged with impersonating police offi- cers in Port Perry on the eve- ning of April 29. Police report that two male parties approached a third male party and accused him of sexually assaulting girls. A heated argument broke out at which point the two iden- tified themselves as police offi- cers. The case is under investi- gation.
