Canada World Youth Port hosts Ecuador Youth This summer, during the months of August, September and October, the community of Port Perry will host a group of 14 youths, aged 17 - 24 from Canada and Ecuador on a Canada World Youth exchange programme. Their 3 month stay in the area will be the first leg of a 6 month learning experience, with the se- cond stage taking place in Ecuador. The seven young Canadians have been selected from across Canada to participate in the ex- change and will be accompanied by a qualified field staff person or Register for Myrtle Ball by Sonja Graham Ashburn and Myrtle Baseball League registration ends May 20th. Canada World Youth is a private, non-profit organization funded by the Canadian Interna- tional Development Agency, and has sponsored youth exchanges with various developing nations for the past 16 years. During 1989, nineteen different country ex- changes will take place across Canada. They'd never found any faraway bubbles before, but on PORT issues both in Canada and abroad. While on the program the par- ticipants will live and work with local families. The families will be remunerated for the cost of food by Canada World Youth. In- tegration into the family and in- volvement in local agencies and organizations are very important parts of the exchange. They allow participants an opportunity to learn about the reality of the region as well as local lifestyles and culture. Canada World Youth can offer community members the opportunity to meet, learn and interact with young people who come from a different culture and way of life.
