And in the afternoon, start- ing at 1:00 PM, the Funland Band will perform in the Main Tent for the children. Admis- sion is $4, and adults get in free ifaccompanied by a youngster. That evening, the Barley Mow Pub will be the scene of British entertainment by Pearly Queen. And in the Main Tent Fri- chicken and ribs bar- lowed by the "mechanical surf board extravaganza." You can play California beach bum and test your skill on the mechanical board, with the North American SurfQueen. The cost for the bar-b-q, the Surf Show and the dance is $17.50 per person. Saturday, July 15, will fea- ture several special events, starting in the morning with the famous 99-cent pancake breakfast by Golden Griddle. There will be a merchants auction in the Main Tent, Arm Wrestling competitions all af- ternoon and, and a darts tour- namentin the Latcham Centre. The Pearly Queen will again entertain in the Barley ow Pub that evening. And if you like the sounds of rock and roll British style, the Main Tent will feature two bands Saturday evening play- ing non-stop til 1:00 AM. Advance tickets for this "Tribute to British Rock" will cost $12 per person, or $15 at the door. Mr. Churchill says there is no accurate way of counting just how many people arrive in Port Perry for the mid-summer Fes- tival, but the event just seems to get bigger and bigger each year. And it's an enormous job to organize. The Committee has been working for months, and in fact there are about 25 sub- committees working to ensure that everything is in place for July 13. Tickets for many of the spe- cial events are now on sale. Watch for the Festival Days booth on Queen Street on the weekends.
