While few new records were set, partly resulting from a stronghead wind, it was a pleasant day and everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Members of the Port Per ry Fire Department and Region- al Police force were on hand, patrolling the water to ensure that no accidents took place. The many volunteers helped to organize the event, stand by at the checkpoints and assist in the final tallying. While a few stragglers needed to be assisted to the finish five hours into the race, everyone received a round of ap- plause when they touched down on shore. Prizes this year included framed picturés of the route as well as medals, trophies and gift certificates. (J And they are off!
