Vendors are needed, and tables are available at $7.00. So get into the "swing" of things and reserve this important date. One never knows what 'fantastic items" there will be for sale. Cancer Results Re - Cartwright Cartwright (Ward 4) did indeed sell, in the month long canvass, during April, with $6,145.00, under the leadership of Pat Sleep! Our congratulations! 'Caesarea Euchre Enjoyed First prize winner was Anne Harran with a fine score of 91. Norman Rohrer came in second with 78. Albert Watts in third place with 46. Monica Stephenson prepared the tasty lunch, follow- ed by a time of visiting! Next week - again! Nestleton Women's Institute Meeting The June meeting of Nestleton Branch started with a tour of Mother Jacksons plant in Port Perry, arranged by Bertha McLaughlin, convener of family and consumer affairs. Later the group went to Bird- ' seye Centre park, and held the business meeting by the lake. President Neta Fish led in the Col- lect and read a poem, "June On A Country Night." The minutes were read by secretary Gwen Malcolm, and the new programi- mes for the year were distributed. Gwen was thanked for typing same. : The roll call, "How to stretch your consumer dollar' brought out some useful ideas from members and visitors. The members were reminded of an in- vitation to Solina October meeting, and also, to Blackstock Branch, on Wednesday, June 14, at 8 p.m., to see slides to be shown by Shirley Turner. As the District Director was absent, a report in the Statesman of the District An- nual held May 18, was read by the secretary, and some of the District work in which Nestleton W.I. will be involved was review- ed. The Grade 8 Award to the stu- dent most improved in writing will be presented at Graduation Exercises. The July meeting will be a trip to. Cullen Gardens, with more details avajlable nearer to the "date, July; + Berth: ughlin spoke to the Motto: # is 'the tomorrow yoli: wosried about yesterday." Alsd, from the Anglican Church newsletter she read a poem by Doris Johnston, "You Tell Me I'm Growing Old." A humorous reading by Gordon Green, '"'Main- ly Because of the Meat" was read by Winnifred Davison. Lunch was served by the group, Grace Bajema, Bertha McLaughlin and Winnifred Davison, and Gwen Malcolm thanked everyone for the en- joyable afternoon. Congratula- tions were extended to Bertha and Harry McLaughlin on their 60th annive held this past Sun- day. Birthday wishes also sent to Mabel Dayes on her 80th birthday held this past Saturday. Nestleton United Church At Nestleton United on Sunday, June 11, at 11:15 a.m. a very good attendance with wilma Wotten and family, the friendly greeters at the door, Guests were welcom- ed. Good to see Rev. John and Mrs. Hill from Western Canada, a former minister at Columbus and Raglan churches. It was great also, to see Logan Stanley Malcolm, the newest little baby in our community along with his Mom Joanna, and Dad David, out with their wonderful little family. The minister Rev. Dale Davis brought to the congregation, a message re - '"'God's Compas- sion," based on Scripture from Psalms 113 and Luke 11:1-17. The choir sang a lively number "Go Tell Everywhere" with organist Gwen Malcolm at the instrument! Arnold Williams and Chuck Hill received the offering.
