V.I.P.'s The V. I. P. program (Values, Influences and Peers) Is well-established in this area, join- ing Durham Regional Police and teachers in an attempt to teach elementary school aged children to understand responsibility for their own actions. It also helps kids develop pos- itive self-images and self-confidence; an understanding that people may be influenced by peer pressure; insights to assist them in making choices when confronted by negative peer pressure; and a respect for the rights of others. After nine weeks of instruction (once a week), the grade six students of Immaculate Conception Catholic School graduated from the program on June 5.
