The Summer Rally of Lindsay Presbyterial of the W.M.S. will be held at Beaverton on Wednesday, June 21. Afternoon session will take place at the Old Stone Church at Beaverton (just east of Hwy. 12 at 2:00 p.m.) and supper and evening service at Beaverton Presbyterian Church. Evening service will be at 7:00 p.m. with guest speaker June Stevenson, editor of Glad Tidings. The Ladies' Bible Class will meet on Wednesday evening of this week at the home of Bernice Gardner. Pat Pike will give us a slide presentation of her recent trip to Israel. We welcome any of the ladies to join with us. Rev. McEntyre returned to the pulpit last Sunday morning, after spending a week in Montreal, attending General Assembly. His subject was '"The Right Kind of Power." Scriptures were read by Ron Ashton and Ken Brown. The choir sang "Hiding in Thee." Doug and Florence Ashton visited with Mrs. Ruth Purdy of Orangeville on Sunday. July 1st, Canada Day promises to be an exciting day in Ashburn once again, when everyone joins together at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, at Ashburn Park for a Canada Day picnic. Starting at 8:30 with a pan- cake breakfast. Events include: balloon release, sideshows, clowns and other local talent, brass band, tug-o-war, games and much more. Prizes for all. This event is sponsored by 'Ashburn Community Centre, and wraps up at 2 o'clock to give you plenty of time to speed away to the cottage > wherever. Do plan to join in the un.
