The committee wishes to thank Bill and Shirley Barr for the use of their grounds also all the helpers and those who donated items. New pews and books, plus lovely new organ is cause for celebration Utica and Area News by Vera Brown A lovely quilt, handmade by members of the Sunday School, was presented to Mrs. Irene Fielding on Sunday upon her retirement as Sunday School Superintendent. Service Books were dedicated in her honor, to be used in the Utica Church where she first became familiar with the many children of the Sunday School. Certificates of recognition were presented to all students and a special presentation of Bibles was made to Lisa Taylor, Nicole Acerra and Sally Irving. A presentation was made to Donna Kerry who will be leaving the Sunday School when she marries. This coming week at Utica Church, starting at 11:15 a.m., there will be an "Old Time Hymn Sing' as the new organ, pews and hymn books will be dedicated. Following the morning service, the Sunday School picnic will be held with a potluck lunch, follow- ed by games for young and old alike. This is always a fun time, so plan to attend. There will be a euchre this Fri- day at 8 p.m. in Utica Hall. All are welcome. The Stephen Aked family were Saturday dinner guests with Roy & Ina Sutherland and family in Oshawa. Eileen Slute enjoyed a week holidaying in Wildwood, New Jersey with a bus tour. Bill and myself visited on Satur- day with relatives in Scar- borough. We called on Al & Joyce Yates, Bryce & Ivy Butler, Mrs. Elsie Butler and her sister Bessie Schwalm, and were luncheon guests with Fred & Fran Meyers. Visitors with us on Sunday after- noon were Bill's brother Fred and children. Church yard sale success The Seagrave church service was conducted on Sunday by the U.C.W. with Mrs. Margaret In- gram leading it. Mrs. Pam Butler gave the childrens story, Mrs. Joan Lee sang a solo 'My Tribute' accompanied by Mrs. Fern Tobin on the organ. Mrs. Jessie Nobbs introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Lloyd Wilson, a member of the Uxbridge Baptist Church. She gave a very inspirational talk us- ing the Fathers Day theme. Mrs. Shirley Barr thanked her. Next Sunday Rev. D. Shepherd will be in the pulpit. Seagrave Sunday School picnic will be Sunday, July 2 at 12:00 at the park. Congratulations to Billy San- diford of Robinglade Estates and to Nicole Addison of Mariposa Estates who recently participated in the Gauss Math contest.
