Wonderful first show in Standing Room Only When Tom and Catherine . Millar decided several months ago the time had come to/form a childrens theatre group jn Scu- gog, they did so because they saw a lot of talent and 'enthu- siasm just waiting to be tapped. Well, anybody who saw one of the three performances of Standing Room Only dat Town Hall 1873 last weekend, could not help but agree that Tom and Catherine were right on. The Millar Lights, (all 27 of them) as the group is known, sang, danced and acted their way right into the hearts of all who saw the production. ~ From a series of faced- paced comical skits on commer- "cials, the sounds of Vaudeville, » Music by ... Proceeds to The Hospital Fund and Ontario Autistic Society the energy of Yankee Doodle Dandy and Les Miserables, to the movingly beautiful music from Cats and Phanton of the Opera, the Lights put on a won- derful first time performance. And they finished things off with the concluding scenes of that all-time favourite the Wiz- ard of Oz. At the conclusion of the fi- nal show Saturday evening, the young people said thanks to di- rector Nina Foxall, producer Richard Drew and lighting di- rector Mike Wilson, as well as Tom and Catherine Millar who spend countless hours in re- hearsal.
