Well if you're a wing nut, you'll want to know more about the Great Britain Festival Days "Great Wing-Off" being held Thursday July 13 at 7 p.m. during the opening ceremonies of Port Perry's annual mid-summer festival. Organized by the Scugog Chamber of Commerce, the "wing-off is a fundraiser for Com- munity Memorial Hospital. Kentucky Fried Chicken in Port Perry is supplying the wings, free of charge, to all four-member teams that want to enter. The whole idea is for each team to have sponsors (ie. 25 cents for every chicken wing consumed by the team). Then, each team is given 20 minutes to eat as many wings as pos- sible. The team that eats the most wings in that time is the winner! Three teams have already been entered, from Lake Scugog Lumber, Country Lane Real- ty and Dr. Jack Cottrell's dental office. Organizer Sheila Siebarth is hoping for many more teams to enter--especially at least one team from the hospital. For sponsor sheets and more information, call Sheila at 985-2274. Borelians reveal new 1988/89 The Borelians of Port Perry has recently announced its 1989/1990 season, and it promises to be a spectacular one providing both laughter and tears. Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller begins this season. This production, to be directed by John H. Foote, follows the shattered lives and dreams of Willy Loman and his family. In addition, this play offers an opportunity for local high school students to view one of the classics of modern theatre. Showdates are October 26, 27, 28, November 2, 3 and 4, 1989 inclusive. Our second production, Brighton Beach Memoirs by Neil Simon, offers a welcome retreat from the cold winter months. This production, the first of Simon's trilogy, will once again be directed by John H. Foote with show dates February 22, 23, 24, March 1, 2 and 3, 1990 inclusive. Come share the laughter, joy and tears of the Jerome family in Brighton Beach, New York 1942. We then conclude the season with a Festival of One Act Plays. The show dates for this event are May 10, 11 and 12, 1990 with 9 plays presented over these three evenings. For more information concerning how you or your amateur theatre group may enter, please write to: John H. Foote, The Festival Director, ¢/o Borelians Community Theatre, P.O. Box 1256, Port Perry, On- tario, LOB 1NO. School groups are indeed most welcome and are in- vited to enter. The Borelians are pleased to announce that there will be a subscription season. When you subscribe, you receive a 30 per- cent savings over the price of show tickets purchased separate- ly. Subscribers receive first choice of performance night plus guaranteed best seats in the house. You will also receive tickets to all three nights of the one act play festival plus an in- "vitation to the wrap-up gala on May 12, 1990.
