The day was marked by a short closing assembly involving singing, some speeches and viewing slides from the 6th, 7th and 8th grade canoe trip. Parents were invited, and school ended at 12 noon. The teacher's will be having P.D. days Monday, Tuesday and Wednes- |, day at which time the doors will officially close for the summer. A hearty thank you to the Guen- ther's for once again hosting our Games Day last week. Since it was a little on the grey and cold side, we did not swim at all, but played games all afternoon. Con- gratulations to Mr. Flontek's team, which was the overall win- ner! Thanks to the parents who joined us for the day, and for everyone who helped supply the* lunch. We extend our sympathy to the Michel and Bauer families whose seven year old cousin, Mark Michel was killed in a farm acci- dent this past week. The grade 8 graduation evening went very well last week, with a 6 o'clock dinner, followed by some light entertainment by grades 6 and 7 and a short musical "His In- strument Is You" done by the school choir during the gradua- tion ceremony. Mrs. Guetter's remarks of encouragement to each of the three graduates pro- vided a fitting end to the evening. Nelly Tiessen, our secretary, in- formed us in our weekly Newslet- ter that she will be returning as our secretary next year, and we were all glad to hear this news. Thanks Nelly, for doing such a great job all year!
