Approximately 80 people attended, with Helen & Ken McNeely coming from as far away as the Phillipines and their daughter Catharine from Madrid, Spain, who is attending Universi- ty there. The youngest member of the McNeely clan was Alicia..3 month old daughter of Larry and Margaret McNeely, and great- granddaughter of Stan McNeely. The days activities included golf, swimming, races, and a general get-together renewing events of the past year. The food was in abundance and delicious as always. The weatherman giving ~ the family a perfect day. A great time was had by all..with everyone looking forward to next years reunion! This has been held every year since Stan McNeely returned from overseas in the fall of 1945. It's been held down at the "McNeely property every year since! A great reunion! Nestleton UCW Evening Unit Ten ladies attended the June meeting at the home of Regenia Walker. Arlene Malcolm read the minutes and Ina Davis gave the treasurer's report, showing a healthy balance. The devotional, led by Barb Weir, included a reading "Was it Worth it?' and a short story "All That Glitters." ._The July outing to the Lindsay Kawartha Theatre was discussed and plans were made for the September meeting. On behalf of the members, Regenia presented Joanna Malcolm with some useful items for new son Logan. Kay Notman showed a video "Colour and You" as the pro- gramme, followed by a delicious lunch served by the hostess; - assisted by Carol Hill. A social time concluded an enjoyable evening. Nestleton Sunday School Anniversary With David & Joanna Malcolm greeting at the door, a very fine attendance of parents, family, and friends were on hand on Sun- day, June 25, 11:15 a.m. for the Sunday School Anniversary of Nestleton United Church with Superintendent Joanna Malcolm at the helm. The guest speaker Norman Seli was warmly welcomed back and gave an interesting sermon on "Dreams" based on scripture lessons from Genesis 41:14-24 & 25-33. He was introduced by Kay Notman. [Incidentially- Norman Seli will be preaching during the month of July. while Rev. Dale Davis takes a holiday]. Two numbers "Children's Waltz" & "Somewhere Out There' were directed hy music teacher Rebecca Helsdon as the children sang sweetly! The offerings went directly to the Sunday School and will be put to good use. Following the An- niversary many attended the Church pot luck picnic, hosted by Chris & Cliff Davis, Hyde House, Scugog Pt. Rd. A delicious lunch was enjoyed with a great variety of tempting dishes to choose from. All had fun during the games and many took advantage of a dip in the pool. Katie Mairs presented Joanna Malcolm with an appreciation gift on her retirement as Sunday School superintendent. Next Sunday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. a combined outdoor worship service for the Blackstock- Nestleton charge will be held at the home of Art & Barb Weir on the Cartwright-Manvers Boundary-2 miles north of 7A, left hand side of road. Fred Swann conducted the service in Nestleton Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. with Joyce Taylor organist. Psalm 34 was read responsively, and the Scrip- ture reading was Acts 12: 1-19. All attended the Van Nest family picnic held at the Nestleton Community Centre on Sunday afternoon with over 60 present for this annual event! A fine day of visiting & reminiscing. Mrs. Neta Fish & son Calvin & Yvonne Holland & family, had a meaningful day on Sunday..first they were at the cemetery at Sunderland where Graham Fish isresting to arrange flowers..then had a picnic in Lindsay park and ended up at daughter Audrey & Jim Leishman's at Reaboro, for a good supper. Weekend guests with the Sam Cawkers of Scugog Pt. Rd., were: Russ & Edda Bowman of St. Christopher, for Saturday noon luncheon. It was great to see Ed- da looking so well on her first weekend break from St. John's Convalescent Hospital. She is surely on the way to fine health, and we are so happy for her.
