Former Scugog Mayor Lawrence Malcolm, himself an avid golfer related this story, though we are not sure ifit real- ly happened or not. Anyway, Charlie, a devout golfer took his good friend John to the course one day. Charlie always finished his morning game in time to be home for lunch by 12:30, and when he was not home six that evening, Charlie's wife began to get very worried. When he finally staggered through the front door an hour later, looking very tired and be- draggled his wife asked, what happened, did you play three rounds today. : No, replied Charlie. Just 18 holes but I thought I would never make it around the course. We were on the third tee when I hit the ball and it veered to the right and slammed John in the head, knocking him out cold. From then on, I had to hit the ball, drag John, hit the ball, drag John. I thought we would never get finished. ner of the Blacktock Lioness Club trophy for oustanding achievementin French, and Eli- ane Fernandes recieved a tophy from the Lioness Club for out- standing improvement in stud- ies and achievement in French.
