On July 4th at 6:30 in Green- bank Dennis Anderson and Perfect Heating went head to head in battle for first place. After four complete innings of play Perfect Heating lead 2-1 with strong hitting by Greg, Travis H and Jeremy. This Greenbank team has been the hardest hitting team Dennis Anderson has faced and had to play very defensively. In field, Brad Fraser made a stop that saved the game for the Dennis Anderson team. In the 4th Owen St. John hit a grand slam to bring home Kevin, Amanda and Evan. With a fourth hit by Johnny C, Dennis Anderson went ahead 6-2. In the 6th, another grand slam by Perfect Heatings Jeremy tied the game 6-6. It was decided to play an extra inning to break the tie. Owen pitched a strong last in- ning and with help from his team- mates they landed 3 outs in a row. With last bat and starting off at the top of the order Kevin and Amanda both landed on base and with Owen up, he hit the ball to the outfield that brought home both players. The game ended with an 8-6 score. Great Game Kids! On Tuesday July 11,D.A. and B & R Electric travelled to Seagrave to play. After 2 innings of play the score was tied 10-10 with hard hitting from D.A.'s Brad, Johnny, Aaron, and Aman- da and B & R's Scott Michael and Justin. In the 3rd, with 2 on base, D.A.'s Tim hit a home run and with great hits from Alex and Evan D.A. pulled ahead 15-10. Strong fielding in the 4th by Erin, Evan and Mike helped D.A. hold on to the lead. The game ended with D.A. win- ning 24-16. Owen St. John pitched a great game with 6 strike-outs. MITES BASEBALL The Greenbank Mites extended their undefeated streak to nine games with consecutive victories over Seagrave and Marlin Travel. Travel. ' Tillie Turnbull put forth a great effort with her super hitting and terrific fielding. Allan Anderson 'and Steven Gilliam were also in good form slugging that ball for Seagrave. Sunnybrae's 1st low gross went to Vera Brown, with 2nd, 3rd 4th and 6th going to Josie Wilson, Ann Meester, Marie Charles and Ellen Curry. 1st low net went to Eve Phye, with 2nd, 3rd, 4th going to June Haynes, Agnes Schroer and Maye Conway. 'Summerlea winners were Ann Theriault for 1st low gross, Ann Marie Kennedy, with 5th low gross and 1st, 4th, 5th-and 6th low net going to Joan Bruneua, Marg Brown and Angela Dredge. Bev Brown of Summerlea had a chip in and Terry McDonald had the least putts. Longest drive again went to Eve Johnston of Sunnybrae, with Chip-ins and Birdies going to Kay McBride, Marie Charles .and Carol Jackson. Josie Wilson was winner of 'Closest to the Holes" There were a number of draws, with a lovely oil painting donated by artist Doris Watson of Sun- nybrae, being won by Terry McDonald. Summerlea president Karen Hutchinson thanked the host club and extended an invitation for Sunnybrae to join them for a return tournament next year. VAN § TRUCK WORLD ACCESSORIES and INSTALLATIONS SUMMER MADN Everything is on Sale - July Mites baseball results to be outdone. Jimmy Edwards made an awesome double play in the fourth. Andrew Donnelly sure knows what to do with the ball as proven by his great fielding and a powerful third base hit. Scott and Grant McCoshen and Russell Madill showed us how to slug that ball with some tremen- .dous hits for Marlin Travel. Theresa Gracie and Tonya Trainor were only two in a long list of sluggers for Greenbank. Stephanie Watson suffered a minor injury to her leg but stayed in the game and hobbled to first base where a runner took over for her. Bryon, Casey and Jennifer made some great fielding plays, Bill, Robbie and Andrew made some tremendous plays on second and Ryan McBride, Ryan McQuade and Jimmy Edwards snuffed that ball wherever they were. Congratulations to all three teams for their tremendous spirit and great ball playing. 7-8 MITES SOFTBALL Home Hardware won over Seagrave in a well played game. Timothy Wray, Jonathan Ashmore and Jordon Hughson played skillfully in the field and at bat for "Seagrave." For "Home Hardware" Kirsten McKernan, Jon Sonders and Christopher Jones all had 4 hits while Patrick McKernan and Matthew McMaster each had 3 hits.
