Councillor Pearce also re- ported that according to the Ministry of Natural Resources, there is nothing illegal with the berm. The reports came about fol- lowing a discussion last week at council at which councillors re- ported many complaints from concerned residents along Walsh Drive and Chester Street in the Perry Glenn sub- division. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell at- tended the meeting Monday morning to express their con- cern and annoyance at council and the Port Perry Star in mak- ing their personal business public. "We have been treated un- fairly", Mr. Mitchell told coun- cil and he indicated he felt they were owed an apology. On questioning from Council - lor Hunter, who asked "what will the end result be", regard- ing the size of the berm, Mr. Mitchell indicated it was be- tween his architect and them- selves. "The end result will be beau- tiful", he said when questioned further, but he said he didn't know what the final height of the berm would be. He went on to tell council that the same architect that de- signed Port Perry waterfront plan along Water St. was used for their landscaping. Mrs. Mitchell explained that over 250 truckloads of earth have been removed from the property to date, and many more will be going. Councillor Christie told the Mitchells she had explained to Walsh Drive residents that she felt that what they saw now, was not the end product and suggested it was better than what they could have had at the rear of their properties. She also suggested that the residents in the area have a le- gitimate concern about possible run-off from the high berm onto their properties. -- PSYCHOTHERAPY -- -- DIVORCE MEDIATION -- -- STRESS MANAGEMENT -- Port Perry Counselling Services MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, 462 PAXTON ST.
