Sometime during either the late night of Wednesday, July 26th, or the early morning of Thursday, July 27th, ten golf carts were hot wired and driven around the golf course. They were driven into trees, through ditches and into each other causing over $5,000 in damage. Of the ten that were taken, seven were damaged and three were found nearly a mile away on Heron Road. Damage was also done to the greens. Crime Stoppers is asking for anyone with any information to call. Have you any idea who did this damage? Have you heard who might have been responsible? The Crime Stoppers phone number is: 436-8744 that's 436-TIPS Long Distance Call Collect Whitby man charged for wife murder On Tuesday, August 1st at about 9:30 p.m. police received in- formation that there had been a Homicide at 11 Brendonbrook Drive in Whitby. The area was sealed off and Police began negotiations with the occupant, a Ralph Douglas ACORN, aged forty-five years of 11 Brendonbrook Drive. Eventually, at 5:25 a.m. August 2nd, he surrendered without inci- dent to Police. On checking the house, police found the body of Christine SIOCHOWICZ, aged thirty-eight, Acorn's common-law wife. She way lying on the floor of the fami- ly room having been shot in the head with a small calibre weapon. There was also signs of mutila- tion to the upper part of the body. Acorn has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and appeared in Oshawa Court on August 2nd. He was remanded in Custody and is being held at the Whitby Jail.
