Something for everyone at Port annual fair The Port Perry Fair is almost here. There is still time to get your Entry Form in. You may drop your Entry Form off at the Fairgrounds Office, which will be open August 29, 2-6 p.m., August. 30, 31, September 1, from 12-9. Judging of all entries will com- mence at 6:00 p.m.. Results will be listed in future editions of the Port Perry Star. Don't forget Saturday, September 2nd "is Kids Day. There's the Clown Contest, Col- ouring Contest, Pet Show, Junior Gymkhana Horse Show, Free ad- mission on Saturday for all children. Balloons will be handed out at the gates and may be blown up with helium at the office. Tickets for Chicken Bingo will be available at various areas dur- ing the Fair. Tickets for the Dark Fruit Cake (1st Prize) will also be on sale during the Fair. Second prize is a hand painted folk art tray. Third prize is a grape vine wreath. The draw will take place on Monday, September 4th, at approximately 3:00 p.m., in front of the grandstand. This year we are having a Farmers Market, for local farmers. No wholesalers. Anyone interested may call 985-3819 for more information. The Christie Building will have many booths selling and display- ing various items. There will be a booth on Christian Literature, Micro Furnaces, Port Perry Feeds, Legend Art Characters, Knitting Machines, Port Perry Baptist Church, Scugog Historical Society, Painting, Craft Products, Tupperware, and many more. The infield will see displays from Philp Pontiac, Taylor Ford Mercury, Utica Farm Equip- ment, B & W Farm Service, Wil- ly & Sons and the Scugog Fire Department. The Midway will also be there. An information booth will be set up to assist the public in locating a special event, selling tickets and answering any questions you may have. Horse Races take place Sun- day, September 3rd at 1:00 p.m. The Fiddle Contest commences at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the tent. Need something to do this weekend. Come on out and spend a day at the Fair. There is something for everyone. Stolen car recovered A 1988 Oldmobile 98 sedan was reported stolen the night of August 26 from a home on Con- cession Two in Scugog. And whoever lifted the ma- roon coloured four door car com- plete with cellular phone and a set of golf clubs in the trunk, left another vehicle behind. Police found a 1985 Chev Suburbun with a flat tire in its place. Police say the Chev had been reported stolen two days earlier from Uxbridge.
