In the Ladies' Division congratulations is extended to the team of Sophia Brendon and Heather Muir who were vic- torious over their opponents Laurie Cooper and Winnie Tobin, 7-5, 7-6. In the consolation finals Kathy Reese and Tasha Vander- bles tennis action on August 19. John and his partner Ken- ny Elliott (absent) were defeated in championship round. wyst defeated Heather McCrae and Kendra McCrae, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. The finals of the championship game in the Men's Division was cancelled due to rain and was scheduled for the following Tues- day afternoon, 5:30 at the courts. This was an exciting match bet- ween John Scott/Kenny Elliott and Werner Mees/John Rickey. Leading with 16 points is Joe Vanderwyst's team of Joe, Brian Shanley, Bas VanAndel, Pat McGhee, Laurie Cooper and Judy Sokoloski. In se- cond place, with 12 points, is Kathy Reese's team consisting of Kathy, Pat Guenther, Ann Powell, Paul Linton, Dick Martin and Quinn Sutherland. The Wednesday morning Ladies League's Singles Tourna- ment is scheduled for September 6th, organized by Kathy Reese.
