Brian Thompson of Sherwood Park, Alberta, was elected the 69th National President of the Association of Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs. He is joined on the national board of directors by Wendy Red- dington of Edmonton, Alberta, who was elected to the position of National Kinette Co-ordinator. These elections took place at the Association's national convention in Cornwall, Ontario where it was announced that during the past year the more than 1,000 Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs across Canada donated $21,713,012 in service funds to their communities. This year the Association celebrated 25 years as a supporter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CCFF) with the theme 'Together For Life" and remained the largest single con- tributor to the CCFF with a dona- tion of more than $1.2 million. Since the first Kinsmen Club began supporting cystic fibrosis back in 1964, more than $13 million has been raised. The weekend kicks off with a "Mood Adjustment Hour' and reception on Friday evening. A golf tournament and visit to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Mt. Hope Saturday morning followed by a parade, Harvard Aerial Salute, Memorial Service and a banquet. The weekend winds down with a pan- cake breakfast Sunday morning. This service is conducted in memory of the 47 Com- monwealth, American and Cana- dian Airmen who paid the supreme sacrifice while serving at Dunnville from 1940 to 1944. The parade will be led by the pipes & drums of BR. 142 Royal Canadian Legion and the Memorial Service will be preced- ed by a formation fly-past of Har- vard Aircraft led by Norm Telemiracle to support their foun- dation while the B.C. clubs assisted their foundation by rais- ing $1.4 million in a door-to-door blitz known as the Kinsmen Mother's March. reunion Beckham of the Canadian Har- vard Aircraft Association of Woodstock, Ont. A banquet will follow at the Legion Auditorium at which time Mr. Collins will be the speaker and will reminisce on his early days in the R.C.A.F.
