Those of us who could not take enough time to make the longer trip thoroughly enjoyed the many events at Lind- say Fair. For many families this is a long-time tradition. On Sunday a large crowd at- ended the Official Opening of Camp Ademac of the Oshawa Division. This camp is on the Pur- ple Hill road between the Sin- dicate Forestry and the Bill Lishman home on the fifty acre former "Toms" ranch. An in- teresting programme followed by refreshments and tours of the area involved many Guide and Civic Officials. In my lists of University students I made an error on Laura Gardner - she is entering her third year in Teachers' Ed at Trent. While many of my genera- tion would love to have our age lessened by a year, it is not so with younger folk. My apologies, Laura. 4-H in the fall is ready to begin with an exciting cooking club Food Fast. The meetings for the two clubs begin on Tuesday Sept. 26 and Thursday Sept. 28, at 7:15 p.m. at Blackstock United Church. On the Senior citizens bus trip last Monday the group enjoyed having a luncheon at Elgin House in Bracebridge and a great boat trip on the Lady Muskoka. The day concluded with a supper at MacDonald's in Orillia. Dick and Ione (Dunn) Braun from San Francisco visited for a few days at her cousin's Walter and Audrey Wright. While here they enjoyed seeing other cousins of the area. Rev. and Mrs. Dale Davis con- ducted a retreat for the Youth Group at their cottage on the weekend. While they were away the U.C.W. capably took Worship at the regular time on Sunday morning. Jean Adams conducted the service assisted by Oney Gould, Linda Bradburn, Mavis Brodie, Helen Bradburn, Ruby Van Camp, Barb Byers and Louise Swain in various roles.
