Four long time friends dropped in to help us cheer on the Blue Jays. Mike and Wendy Goldsmith from Raglan and Jim and Hetti Powell from Bowmanville. It was good to see them again. John & I went out for our an- niversary on Saturday. We dined at Elephant Lake Lodge. We always celebrate with the kids. They help to keep us together. My sister Bonnie and her husband Bob Wilson of Beaverton arrived with their 3 foster boys, Joe, Scott and Kyle. Also my sister Dot & her husband Jim Schroeder of Ajax and their 2 daughters, Cindy and B.J. We talked and ate all weekend. It's nice to know that this old aunt can still climb '"'the hill" faster than kids raised in Ajax. Thursday evening 14 tables were filled at the weekly euchre. The winners for the ladies: Alma Manns, Doris Hill, Ruby Birkett. Men: Elsie Pogue, Ray Parlia- ment, Norman Birkett. Lucky Draws: Alvin Spencer, Erma Watson, Pat Norton. On Saturday evening Merv and Ilean Pugh had their Thanksgiv- ing Dinner with some of their family who could be home. They included Pearl Gostick, Wayne, Dianne and family, Bonnie, Laurel, Trevor and his girlfriend Tonya Buxcey. The 1st Scugog Cub and Scout's are in need of a cub leader for eight cubs. The cubs meet on Tuesday evening at the Prince Albert School at 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This year there are twenty scouts so some leaders have moved up and others have left. If you have some spare time and like working with boys here is your chance. Male or female, these boys will welcome you I'm sure and one of the past leaders will be there to help for a few times. Happy Birthday to Trevor MacSween who was 11 last Fri- day. Several friends of Trevor & Travis were invited to a birthday party after school on Friday where they played games, danc- ed and enjoyed a celebration for both of the boys. The Thanksgiving weekend was a cool one but many of us were able to get out and view the beau- ty-of-the season which is at it's best in bur-area as well as areas to the north. Bill and I accompanied the Den- nis Gerrow family to Kingston on Sunday to have Thanksgiving with son Charlie and his wife Susan. The Doug MacSween family were Sunday guests with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timms at Greenbank. The Jack Skelding family were supper guests on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Skelding at Newtonville. Monday supper guests with Irene Fielding were Jim and Dolores and boys, Frank & Linda and girls of Port Perry. The Lorne Slutes had their family home for dinner on Mon- day and on Sunday were guests with Sharane Ross and boys. On Thursday Eileen Slute and Jean Holtby took a bus trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake to attend the Shaw Festival. D.J.
